It was very beneficial to be able to ask Stuart's opinions without him being tied to a particular product, supplier or solution and for him to provide advice on the causes of the damp rather than just seeking to treat symptoms (unlike the two damp 'specialists' who had previously visited us!)

Additionally the remedial work recommended by Stuart should end up being considerably less expensive than we had been led to expect, based on the one quotation we received. 

Since Stuart's visit we have removed the wallpaper from the rear wall to the right of the door frame which apears to indicate a leak from around the window frame contributed to the higher moisture reading. 

We have also started to remove the cement from the vertical joins between the rear wall and kitchen extension, which had small gaps, as Stuart recommended."
